What Is the Cloudjet Proxy Detection API?

Cloudjet's Proxy Detection API enables applications and systems to verify whether an IP address is associated with suspicious activity or belongs to a known proxy service. With a simple API call, developers can retrieve valuable information about the origin and trust level of a user’s IP address.

What the API Returns

The API response is designed to be clear, structured, and informative. When queried with an IP address, the API returns data such as:

  • City and Country – Geolocation of the IP, including latitude and longitude.

  • Continent and Timezone – Regional information that can be used for access control or customization.

  • ISP and ASN – Internet service provider details and Autonomous System Number for network tracing.

  • ASN Organization – The registered organization operating the IP range.

  • Suspicion Flags – A boolean flag (is_suspicious) and a numerical suspicious_score that indicate the level of risk associated with the IP address.

For example, a request for the IP 45.86.229.93 might return:

In this example, the API has flagged the IP as suspicious, likely due to its association with known hosting or proxy infrastructure.

suspicious_score is from 0 to 1 and indicates the suspicious score (higher = more suspicious).
